About:

The Arc Caddo-Bossier believes that everyone who wants to live in the community and be contributing members of that community, should have the right and opportunity to do so. Our Community Homes offer a place to call home for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve more than 50 people in Northwest Louisiana in eight community homes that are staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The Arc Caddo-Bossier’s Community Homes meets each individuals needs through a person-centered plan customized to every person who lives in one of our homes. We are committed to offering the program's services through a skilled and competent staff of direct support professionals (DSPs), managers and supportive administrators. Each resident is served by a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) who connects the interdisciplinary team and develops an individual's plan along with that person, his/her family and friends and other related staff and care professionals.

The First Community Home

The Arc Caddo-Bossier opened the first community home in Louisiana in October 1977. This innovative approach proved that there could be alternatives for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities that would allow those who lived there to thrive. The Arc Caddo-Bossier's Old Mooringsport Road Community Home continues to operate today as a 6-bed residence and has served for years as the model that sets the standard for community homes in the State of Louisiana. Each of our homes offer a warm, caring, safe and attractive environment for the residents. The Arc Caddo-Bossier currently owns and operates eight community homes throughout Northwest Louisiana.
