Growing healthy food and fun!
benefitting Goldman School and Child Development Center

Like The Arc Caddo-Bossier on Facebook for Goldman Garden's #parenttiptuesday!

Goldman School is working hard to:

  1. make the garden area accessible for all children by preparing the ground surface for wheelchairs with materials such as cement, flagstone, rubber strips, or gravel.
  2. purchase more equipment and materials for building additional features for garden maintenance and educational activities.
  3. purchase and implement a healthy living curriculum that teaches the children about gardens, plants and healthy eating.
:

Goldman School is building an innovative model of healthier foods and support for local farms including a fully inclusive school yard garden. Goldman School parents, staff, and volunteers recently created two 17' X 14" raised beds for a vegetable garden. The garden project will serve as the foundation for different educational experiences including:  planting seeds; observing, measuring and taking care of plants as they grow; harvesting and preparing vegetables to eat; and learning about different foods and healthy eating habits.

We appreciate your support!
